A Logtek product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Sep 1, 2006

Logtek - the rapidly expanding Birmingham logistic services arm of the GBP1bn Linpac Group - has a new commercial focus thanks to the return of a founding member from a secondment in Australia.

Angus Wolfendale, has returned to the UK as the company's commercial manager after X years in Sydney where he was tasked with establishing business operations across Australia on behalf of one of Logtek's retail customers.

He will now support sales and business administration, including business development, examining commercial aspects, leading contract negotiations, implementing and managing back office processes, ensuring internal and third party processes are documented and adhered to, as well as driving commercial strategy.

Angus has also been leading the team dealing with the operational issues in the aftermath of the fire at the Logtek Spalding depot in July.

Along with managing director Tim Smith, he was also one of the original-founding members of the company, when Logtek was formed a decade ago in1996.

Angus said: "It's good to be back and there's certainly plenty to do.

Logtek continues to grow and attract new clients and even with setbacks such as the fire at Spalding, we've shown our versatility and strength.

We're still investigating temporary solutions, as well as formulating a long-term strategy for the site, however, our contingency and operations planning has meant that none of our customers have been affected.

"My role is to continue this good work and reinforce the message that Logtek provides innovative and responsive services to meet our clients' specific and individual needs in a proactive way.".
