Process Automation Within Reach Of Majority UK
The launch of the Lab-Manager process control computer system is set to bring process automation within the reach of the majority of laboratories, pilot plants and mini-production facilities.
Providing the research chemist with the ability to use round bottom flasks on a standard hotplate stirrer without the need for either an oil bath or mantle, this innovation can accommodate flask sizes from 50ml up to 1000ml.
The units are machined from solid aluminium to exceedingly close tolerances in order to provide the best possible heat transfer and rapid heating.
When used in conjunction with Heidolph Magnetic Stirrer/Hotplates the aluminium block also provides fuzzy logic for accurate temperature control and safely heats up to 200 degrees Celsius.
By removing the oil bath from the bench the DrySyn improves laboratory safety and cleanliness at a stroke.
There are no hot oil issues or oily residue left on glassware, whilst improved stability on the hotplate and better centring of the stirrer bar are just two of the additional spin-off advantages.
Simple in concept and in execution, the DrySyn has undergone an independent evaluation by NJD Scientific Consultants in which it was concluded that the product had üproven equal to the best custom fitted oil baths available and is far superior to the majority of improvised baths used by many chemists.ý üIt is amazing that it has taken so long for someone to come up with this solution.ý Says LabPlant director Greg Smith, adding; üWe have no doubt that within a very short space of time the DrySyn will become a laboratory standard, consigning the oil bath to the skip on safety, ease of use and cleanliness issues alone.ý Yorkshire based Lab-Plant has a 30 year history supplying laboratory and scale-up chemistry equipment including distillation, evaporation and drying apparatus, to the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industries worldwide.
The company's success is based on bringing effective new products to market along with strong technical back-up to support its comprehensive ranges of bench-top and capital equipment.
