A semi-automated testing solution to test the firing mechanisms of pharmaceutical 'one shot' pressurised metered dose inhaler canisters (MDIs) has now been developed by Lloyd Instruments.

The first dedicated testing solution of its kind, the MDI Test System ensures canisters deliver the correct dosage of drugs without any danger of valve failure.

Aimed at MDI canister manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies, it reduces testing turnaround times more than any other conventional testing system.

New NEXYGEN MT v4.5 control software, also included, features powerful new security and audit trails which is vital for medical data auditing.

Easy to operate, the MDI Test System consists of a special MDI test jig fitted to the company's 5kN LRXPlus universal testing machine.

Once an MDI canister is loaded into the jig, the user simply pushes the start button on the detector unit to start the test.

Once complete, results are automatically recorded for analysis and reporting.

For operator protection, a PVC shield is fitted with an automatic lock mechanism that must be engaged.

For large scale tests, the software includes a Batch Tester utility.

Ondio_ Application Builder Software, also included, is used to create individual test set-ups.

New NEXYGEN MT v4.5 software offers full control of the instrument, with detailed analysis of results and flexible reporting.

New security features on version 4.5 now mean operators must login at all times.

Audit tracking is now possible since all details of user logins and logouts, and every modification or action conducted on each test are recorded in full.
