NVH testing productivity increased

Latest integrated software suite for noise and vibration testing has modules that further increase the productivity of testing processes, reduce operational testing costs and supports testing teams.

LMS International announced the introduction of LMS Test.Lab Rev 6 at the 2005 edition of Automotive Testing Expo in Stuttgart, Germany.

LMS Test.Lab is an integrated software suite for noise and vibration testing and engineering and offers solutions for structural, rotating machinery and acoustic testing, environmental testing, vibration control, test data processing, reporting and data sharing.

LMS Test.Lab Rev 6 introduces new capabilities and enhanced modules that further increase the productivity of testing processes, reduces operational testing costs and supports testing teams in getting more insights in the root causes of noise and vibration issues.

With its new architecture for rotating machinery testing, LMS Test.Lab reduced the total elapse time for data acquisition, analysis and reporting with over 30%, while covering even more demanding test scenarios.

LMS Test.Lab Rev 6 provides extensive real-time visualization capabilities, while delivering a complete result set immediately after the measurement.

Rev 6 of LMS Test.Lab features a new Exterior Pass-By Noise Testing solution that is the first solution to support the current and upcoming revision of the ISO 362 standard.

LMS Test.Lab Pass-By Noise provides online feedback to the driver on the progress and the quality of the measurement.

The system guides the user through the software in an intuitive way from test setup, over measurement and analysis, up to the final data comparison and reporting.

This increases testing productivity and reduces room for human errors.

LMS Test.Lab Structures represents a comprehensive solution for structural testing and analysis, covering both modal and operational modal testing applications.

Rev 6 further completes its portfolio with MIMO Sine Testing capabilities to deliver higher quality vibro-acoustic models and more reliable analysis results in reduced testing time.

The new interactive Modification Prediction solution offers capabilities for 'what if' studies to explore alternative designs and supports users in optimising the dynamic behavior of their designs.

LMS Test.Lab Environmental provides a powerful, high-speed multichannel vibration control system, easy to use with extensive data analysis capabilities for random, shock, sine, and combined modes testing.

The LMS Test.Lab system also provides a high performance on-line data reduction of random, sine, transient and acoustic signals.

In the area of environmental testing, Rev 6A brings automatic test sequencing for smooth batch testing.

This allows an automatic and unattended execution of long-duration tests, while guaranteeing full safety of the item that is under test.

Another addition is Time Recording during Sine and Sine Dwell Control, which allows characterisation of non-linearities.
