Tooling firm appoints UK managing
director
LMT Fette has appointed Trevor Tolley as UK managing director to build a direct sales and distribution network around the company's high performance tooling products.
The GBP 360 million, 6,400 employee Leitz Association, which incorporates the Leitz Metalworking Technology Group (LMT), has appointed Trevor Tolley as UK managing director of LMT Fette, based at Longford, Coventry Tolley has a brief to build a direct sales and distribution network around the high performance cutting tool, tool holding, tool management and carbide products produced by LMT Fette

The UK operation has the advantage of technical support from the European parent operations of the six companies in the LMT Group.
This fast developing business employs 3,000 people with international sales of well over GBP 200 million.
LMT Fette specialises in the aerospace, automotive, mould and die, oil and gas and toolmaking sectors in the UK with 10 key specialists assigned to direct customer support.
Tolley is to introduce his experience of applying problem solving techniques and technologies to further develop the UK operation.
The Coventry based operation has six manufacturing companies, all of which are represented in the UK under the LMT Fette banner.
They include the following companies.
* Belin boring tools.
* Bilz tool holders.
* Bohlerit carbide tooling and material processing.
* Fette tooling, hobbing and threading equipment.
* Kieninger carbide, diamond and cubic boron nitride (CBN) tooling.
* Onsrud Cutter, a US based routing tool specialist in the machining of aluminium and plastics.
