Economically priced bar feeder offers a longer bar length as standard, while a compact system for automatic lathes allows changeover of bar diameter in as little as two minutes.

Turbo Systems Europe and LNS (UK) have merged to form LNS Turbo UK The company is based at the existing Turbo Systems Europe site in Barnsley, South Yorkshire

The merger in the UK was brought about by the acquisition in January 2002 of Turbo Systems Inc by LNS America.

The logical progression of this was to combine the UK operations of both companies.

The Turbo Systems Europe site was selected because it has a well established team of skilled engineers combined with a proven management structure, purpose built premises and a sophisticated, fully operational MRP system.

Both companies have recognized product ranges, complementary to one another, and the full range of both will continue to be offered.

MACH 2004 will be the first time the company is showing its complete materials handling systems to automate lathes, which enable customers to undertake unmanned and lights out operations.

The materials handling system comprises the Swiss designed and manufactured LNS bar feeders combined with the Turbo Systems swarf conveyors, which are manufactured in Barnsley.

At MACH, the company will be demonstrating the ways in which its materials handling system can be used to increase the productivity of a lathe by up to 50% without any increase in labour as well as a selection from its new bar feeders, swarf conveyors and filtration systems.

Seen for the first time will be the new LNS Move barfeeder and the LNS Hydrobar Express 220 barfeeder.

Both designed and manufactured in Switzerland, the economically priced Move offers a longer bar length as standard combined with a unique and patented bar storage and loading system.

The compact Hydrobar 220, for sliding head and Swiss style auto machines, permits changeover of bar diameter to be achieved in as little as two minutes.

Also new on the stand will be the new Turbo Powerstream filtration unit, the new Turbo Coalescer oil separator, and the competitively-priced new Turbo Econoveyor swarf conveyor.

In addition, the company will be showing a selection from its Turbo range of swarf conveyors, established as one of the leading designers and manufacturers of swarf conveyors.

The range is extensive - it has over 5000 standard designs available on short lead times - and includes magnetic, scraper and hinge belt conveyors for standard, heavy duty and super heavy duty each offered with a choice of belts including plain, dimpled, perforated, double perforated, dimpled/perforated to give the most suitable system for the specific application.

The filtration systems can remove contamination from as little as 5 microns and through tool coolant pressures up to 100bar.

Managing director of LNS Turbo UK, Harry Duckmanton, said "We are delighted to be at MACH with a materials handling system which can so dramatically improve the profitability from a lathe.

It is the first time we are there with barfeeders and swarf conveyors which can be packaged into one system for a customer.

Combined with our known standards of reliability, delivery and service we are able to make a real difference to companies' production as they take advantage of the improving economic climate".

MACH 2004 - April 19-23 - NEC Birmingham, UK.
