The flexibility of transferring parts between machine tools attracted a laser profiling company to use one CADCAM system for a variety of punching and profiling machines.
Over the years RR have invested wisely in a range of machine tools.
One of the machines they operate is an Amada Vipros CNC punch, which they have had for several years before taking the decision to invest in the latest laser cutting technology with a Mazak STX 2.5 MkII machine tool.
The purchase of the laser machine prompted RR to re-evaluate the CADCAM market.
The original punching machine was programmed with a combination of Teksoft and Jetcam, but they required nesting for the laser machine and wanted one package that could handle all their needs.
Speaking about the decision to invest in a Lantek Expert Gold system Roy Hendry a director of RR said, "Lantek i s a good all round system, able to handle punching and laser machines equally well.
The out standing CADCAM with nesting and the ability to be integrated with our existing Order Processing system made the decision to purchase Lantek very easy.
