Compact scribing laser delivers more performance
Compact scribing laser coder is more compact and lighter weight than other industrial laser coders in its class and delivers greater print performance, says the manufacturer.
Linx Printing Technologies has again set the standard for laser coding with the launch of the Xymark 300SL compact scribing laser coder.
This new mid-powered system is more compact and lighter weight than other industrial laser coders in its class and delivers greater print performance.
Based on state-of-the-art steered-beam laser technology, the Xymark 300SL is suitable for a wide range of coding and marking applications on medium-speed production lines.
With the introduction of the new Xymark 300SL, Linx aims to make laser coding technology more accessible to a broader range of manufacturing companies in the food, beverage, personal care, confectionery, tobacco and pharmaceutical/ healthcare sectors.
The new Xymark is an addition to Linx's existing range of laser coders, complementing the Xymark VW50 scribing laser, which is more suited to applications requiring additional power.
Bob Millinship, Managing Director of Linx Xymark, commented: "With the introduction of the Xymark 300SL we aim to bring high performance laser coding to a wider market at a very affordable price and also to remove some of the 'mystique' associated with the use of laser coders.
Traditionally, lasers have been seen as the preserve of large manufacturing operations with high speed or high volume production lines.
However, we are confident that the Xymark 300SL will appeal to a wide range of customers, both long-standing users of traditional coding systems wishing to modernise their equipment, and existing users who have recently adopted some of the low powered, low priced laser coders on the market but who are now looking for higher power, better performance and greater robustness." The Xymark 300SL offers a number of key technical features which deliver a versatile, high-performing, top-quality product that is lightweight, robust and easy to use: * Full alphanumeric, graphics and barcode printing capability - ideal for a wide range of coding and marking tasks, not just simple date and batch coding.
* Codes onto a wide range of packaging materials including paper, card, glass, PET, painted metal, laminated foil and polystyrene.
* A large scan area for text and graphics (up to a height of 60mm) producing more and clearer print per square centimetre.
* Specially designed integrated electronics and scan controller software delivering peak print and speed performance - up to 200 metres/min for a 1-line 10 character message on printed card.
* A convenient product pitch/print calculator and instantaneous line speed monitoring to allow easy set-up on the production line and high quality on-the-fly coding at varying line speeds.
* Easy-to-use detachable user interface for routine editing and set-up functions, plus a fully featured PC interface for more sophisticated functions.
* Superior safety features such as advanced temperature monitoring electronics and an automatic safety shutter (compared to manual devices offered by other systems).
* The ability to print in any orientation and a combined weight (laser + interface) of only 22 kg, making it easy to install and move from line to line.
* A communications capability via RS232, IRDA and Ethernet providing easy communication and integration with PCs and production processes.
With 25 years' experience in designing laser coding equipment in a fully integrated fashion, Linx continues to demonstrate it can take on board the real needs of customers.
