Printer and coder maker labelled 'Green Partner'

A Linx Printing Technologies product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Sep 28, 2004

To achieve 'Green Partner' certification status, a maker of continuous ink jet printers and laser coders had to pass an audit of our environmental management, design and manufacturing activities.

Linx Printing Technologies, the leading supplier of continuous ink jet (CIJ) printers and laser coders worldwide, has recently been successfully audited by Sony under their 'Green Partner' programme, proving their commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing practices.

The Sony Corporation awards its Green Partner certification to companies following a rigorous evaluation of their processes for development, manufacture and control of products.

Linx met the requirements set by Sony for the reduction or elimination of certain hazardous chemical substances.

Sony established the 'Green Partner' standard in 2001 to encourage its suppliers to introduce products that cause minimal impact on the environment during design and production.

Sony's suppliers who use Linx inks to code parts and devices procured by Sony can now be confident that their parts once coded can be supplied with sufficient information to be compliant with Sony's exacting standards.

Paul Doody, Development Manager at Linx, said: "To achieve this status, we had to pass an audit of our environmental management, design and manufacturing activities.

We are delighted to be awarded 100% in all categories.

We pride ourselves on setting the highest standards in the design and manufacture of our products, in order to maximise user safety and reduce the harmful effects of our products on the environment.

Linx is constantly striving to minimise the environmental impact of their products.

ISO14001 registration and the results of the Sony Green Partner audit is one step closer towards the realisation of our objectives.".
