Handheld ultrasonic leak detector uses ultrasound to detect vacuum and pressure leaks within a compressed air system and gives an audio and visual alarm.

Logis-Tech Associates has released a new ultrasonic leak detector, the EP641 that uses ultrasound to detect both vacuum and pressure leaks within a compressed air system.

The ultrasonic leak detector is handheld, very lightweight and is battery operated.

It detects the leaks through a microphone that the user trains on any area where a suspect leak may be.

If a leak is present the detecting device gives an audio and visual alarm.

It is at a fixed sensitivity, making it extremely simple to use and the EP641 ultrasonic leak detector can locate the smallest of leaks.

The EP641 ultrasonic leak detector also works reasonably well within a noisy environment and no headphones are required.

As is well known throughout the manufacturing industry, 25% of compressed air is wasted in a typical industrial installations and Logis-Tech Associates recommend a regular programme of leak checking throughout the compressed air system within the plant.

Once a leak is detected it must be repaired by a qualified technician/engineer.

Wasting air costs money.

Accessories for the EP641 ultrasonic leak detector include 3 directional probes.

These directional probes are for leak seeking at a distance or for separation of close set leakages.

Operating temperature for the EP641 ultrasonic leak detector is from 0 to 50degC.
