Loadstar releases digital brake testing systems

A Loadstar Sensors product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Oct 24, 2008

Loadstar Sensors has introduced iPedal brake testing systems.

They include a sensor and an interface with optional application software and are easy to use, with digital USB or analogue 0-5V DC output.

They are designed to measure brake force at accuracies up to 1 per cent, minimise error due to off-axis loads and improve brake testing efficiency.

They incorporate Loadstar's plug-and-sense simplicity by integrating signal conditioning and communications into the sensor itself.

The sensor is offered with Loadstar's DS-3000U display and controller to provide real-time readings and the ability to connect to a PC via USB uplink.

The iPedal Digital and the DS-3000U work with Loadstar's Loadvue software, which lets users log data and export to an Excel file for plotting and further analysis.

For users who require analogue output, Loadstar offers the iPedal Analogue which outputs a linear, 0.5-4.5V DC signal proportional to the applied load.

Additionally, the iPedal Analogue is offered with Loadstar's BG-300 bargraph display module, which provides a clear and simple way to monitor brake force without the need for external data acquisition and/or a PC.

The iPedal systems provide many key features in order to simplify the process of building a brake testing measurement system: flexible output options - either digital USB or analogue 0.5-4.5V DC; accuracies up to 1 per cent; aluminium construction; mounting plate for easy attachment to brake pedal; low-profile design and lightweight; displays offer real-time data; 136kg or 227kg capacity; optional Loadvue software allows user to log and plot data.

Rugged cable strain relief ensures that the sensor can handle harsh environments and extensive repeated use.
