Enlarged laser light beam expands applications
Laser light barrier has an enlarged beam to make it suitable for a large range of applications such as air monitoring as well as position measurements.
Laser Components is pleased to announce a new product to the area of optoelectronic measurement, a laser light barrier with an enlarged beam making it suitable for a large range of applications.
The LT-FLLS goes beyond the abilities of a standard laser light barrier.
The LT-FLLS generates a laser line 25 mm wide, 2 mm thick and up to 1500 mm between transmitter and receiver.
Within this laser area particles, position and dimensions can be recognised.
To make sure measurements stay constant regardless of power and temperature fluctuations, 10% of the laser power transmitted is used as a reference and continuously compared with the measured value.
The Area light barrier is capable of recognising particles as small as 10 microns within its beam making it suitable for applications like air quality monitoring or 'bobble' recognition in the textile industry.
Position measurements can be made based on the section of the barrier where the receiver is shaded making it suitable for applications requiring speed measurement, positioning of parts or reduction of run in speeds.
The size of objects within the light band can also be calculated from the amount of light that reaches the receiver.
This allows measurements to be made of diameter, length or area of particles making it suitable for applications including quality management or wire breakage control.
The LT-FLLS uses a 650nm visible red laser that outputs 1mW power (laser class 2).
The standard measuring frequency is 10kHz and sensitivity of approximately 20 microns is achievable.
