Laser components firm gains in France,
USA
To strengthen its position in France, Laser Components has acquired Optophotonics and the company has also signed a deal with Cal Sensors, USA, for IR PbS/PbSe detectors and IR Emitters.
In a move to strengthen its position on the French market, Germany-based Laser Components has acquired the remaining shares of Optophotonics, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary To profit from a unified corporate appearance the company has changed its name to Laser Components SAS

ITW has expanded its line of highly engineered components, industrial systems, consumable systems, and specialty products with the purchase of Cal Sensors, a privately held company.
Cal Sensors, located in Santa Rosa, California, will continue to operate as an independent company, consistent with the ITW decentralisation organisation structure.
ITW's business principle of partnering with customers to develop innovative products, and ensuring customers receive timely, cost effective service mirrors Cal Sensors business model.
Cal Sensors and its customers will benefit from ITW's expansive technical resources, "Helping us to meet customer demands and advances in technology," stated Larry Johnson, president of Cal Sensors.
ITW is a US$14.1 billion in revenues diversified manufacturer of highly engineered and industrial systems and consumables.
The company consists of approximately 750 business units in 49 countries and employs some 55,000 people.
