Getting the best from multi-axis laser machining
Getting the most out of multi-axis laser machining systems has been a 30-year quest for job shop owner Ron Sanders who has worked on the most difficult aerospace, power and automotive parts.
The systems will be equipped with the P50L laser provided by Convergent Lasers, also a division of PRIMA North America.
Dr Paolo Cigna, president of PRIMA North America, announced the order and said, "These sales represent several milestones in our business development".
"The order is for multiple Laserdyne 790 systems in a cell setting with robotic loading provided by Laserdyne Systems".
"The order also includes capabilities developed at Laserdyne Systems for 'drilling at focus' with the Convergent Lasers P50L laser".
"Our customers will no longer need to rely on highly trained operators to produce consistent results".
"In fact our studies show a marked improvement in airflow consistency as well as productivity, regardless of the individual operator".
"The use of these techniques, developed at Laserdyne, will allow laser hole drilling to be brought into modern manufacturing techniques using cell technology".
"Both the Laserdyne 450 and 790 systems included in the order are offered with a standard suite of productivity features such as Optical Focus Control, BreakThrough Detection, and Part Probing".
"When added to the standard System 94 controller software we are able to demonstrate unique processing capabilities".
"These orders validate our efforts for the last three years to bring to the market systems capable of a '2x improvement'." With over 345 multi-axis laser systems in use worldwide, Laserdyne products have become the technology standard for the aerospace industry and are used in turbine engine manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe and Asia.
