Project management firm appoints MD
Value-added engineering design and professional project management company, Lorien Engineering Solutions, has appointed Steve Slater as managing director.
Lorien Engineering Solutions (LES) has appointed a new managing director.
Steve Slater will pick up the reins from David Morris, who is retiring after 10 years at the helm of the Lichfield-based engineering design and project management company.
Morris, who is 60 years old and is retiring to spend more time with his family, said: "I have truly enjoyed my time working at LES.
Over the years we have developed a strong management team that has allowed us to steadily grow the company.
I am leaving Lorien in a strong and healthy position and I am confident that Steve and the team will continue to develop and grow the company." Slater's appointment comes during a period of significant growth for LES; 2006 was the company's most successful year ever.
45-year-old Slater has worked for Lorien for over 20 years, and is already a director of the business, being most recently responsible for the development of the company's work in the brewing and drinks industries.
In his new post, Slater and his management team will be working to consolidate Lorien's established capabilities in those sectors, as well as further growing the firm's burgeoning reputation among food, pharmaceutical and sustainability/environmental organisations.
Slater will also be working closely with Lorien's 70-strong workforce to further develop the company's international work, particularly in the brewing and food sectors.
Commenting on his new role, Slater said: "I am looking forward to the challenge of leading LES, particularly during this current period of significant growth." He added: "During the 20 years I've worked here, the firm has doubled in size and has expanded into new sectors and overseas.
We will be working together to further develop relationships with existing clients, as well as also taking advantage of any new opportunities in emerging products and sectors." Lorien Engineering Solutions has long been associated with value-added engineering design and professional project management.
During its 22 years of operation, the company has completed capital projects totalling in excess of GBP 1bn.
From its base in Staffordshire, UK, the company provides services to client organisations across the UK, and into Europe and Asia.
