Germany European Showcase For Labcell
OXY 6200 is a versatile instrument for a broad range of engine, combustor and catalyst tests and will be shown for the first time in Europe at the Testing EXPO Stuttgart Germany.
While the traditional choice has been between analogue handheld optical instruments or laboratory equipment, Labcell is now launching the Atago PAL-1 pocket-sized digital device at a similar price to a handheld analogue refractometer.
Measuring just 55 x 109 x 31 mm and weighing only 100 g, the PAL-1 is truly portable.
Other factors that help with use either on the factory floor or, literally, in the field, include a fast response, a sample stage designed to avoid spillage, quick, simple zeroing with water, and an easy-clean durable glass prism.
Indeed, the entire instrument can be washed under running water thanks to its IP65 sealing.
With a wide measuring range, the PAL-1 is suitable for use with solutions from jams to beverages.
To take a measurement the user simply places two or three drops onto the sample stage, presses the start key and waits three seconds.
The result, in industry-standard Brix%, is displayed on the integral liquid crystal display.
Unlike optical instruments, there is no scope for the user to interpret - or misinterpret - the result, as it is displayed as an unambiguous Brix% value to a resolution of 0.1%.
Automatic temperature compensation is incorporated to help ensure an accuracy of +/-0.2% across the full measurement range of 0 to 53.0 Brix% for sample temperatures of 0 to 60 degrees C and ambient temperatures from 10 to 40 degrees C.
The PAL-1 is supplied with a convenient storage case.
