Extensive Range Of Digital
Refractometers
Digital refractometers avaiable from Labcell are suitable for a variety of applications in the food and drinks industries for analysing sugar content and for measuring the concentration of grape must.
Labcell's recently expanded range of handheld and benchtop digital refractometers is one of the widest available in the UK Manufactured by Atago, the instruments are suitable for a variety of applications in the food and drinks industries, as well as in agriculture, horticulture, restaurants, canteens, supermarkets, shops, research and education establishments

Thermal properties meter has dual probe
The KD2Pro thermal properties meter, from Labcell, benefits from an SH-1 dual probe that enables thermal diffusivity and specific heat to be measured simultaneously in solids, gels and liquids.
Measurements of water activity in-house
Having purchased an AquaLab Series 3TEB from Labcell, English Provender's product development team can carry out measurements of water activity in-house at the concept stage.
While the majority of the devices are designed for analysing sugar content, others are specifically intended for measuring the concentration of grape must and salt content.
Most versatile of Labcell's refractometers is the PAL-1 handheld unit.
This is fast and accurate, with a measuring range that extends from Brix 0.0 to 53.0% with a resolution of Brix 0.1% and an accuracy of Brix +/-0.2%.

Widest range of water activity meters
Labcell believes it now offers the UK's widest range of water activity meters.
Portable water activity meter is easier to use
Labcell has introduced a new version of the Pawkit AquaLab pocket instrument for measuring water activity (ERH).
Easy to use, the PAL-1 is aimed at applications both indoors and outdoors.
The device is sealed to IP65 so it can be cleaned under running water.
Automatic temperature compensation is incorporated as standard, and calibration verification is very simple.
Similar to the PAL-1, the PAL-2 is a high-Brix version of the instrument that is intended for applications with Brix levels in the range 45.0 to 93.0%.
Meanwhile, Labcell offers the portable PR-32 with a range of 0.0 to 32.0% for measuring low Brix levels.
This model is suitable for use with fruit juices, soft drinks, cutting oils, aqueous cleaning agents and other liquids.
A broad measuring range and extended functionality are provided by the benchtop RX-5000 automatic digital refractometer, which gives a direct indication of refractive index, temperature-corrected refractive index and temperature-corrected Brix (%) for a variety of different liquids.
The refractive index measurement range is from 1.32700 to 1.58000 (nD) while the Brix measurement range is from 0.00 to 95.00%.
Thanks to the use of a sapphire prism, the sample stage is resistant to scratching and corrosion, thereby giving accurate, highly reliable results.
Developed specifically for measuring the concentration of grape must, the WM-7 handheld instrument can be used in temperatures ranging from 5 to 40 degrees C, giving a temperature-compensated, completely unambiguous reading in just 2 seconds.
While the ES-421 instrument looks similar to the WM-7 and PR-32 devices, it measures salt content rather than sugar concentration.
Using a sample of just 1ml, the ES-421 utilises a conductivity method to measure salt content as a percentage.
With a range of 0.00 to 10.0%, the instrument is suitable for testing a wide variety of sauces and other food products.
