Extraction systems also guard against fire

A LTA Lufttechnik product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Nov 14, 2005

Extraction systems serve the suction and cleaning of oil and emulsion mist on machine tools as well as welding and soldering smoke and provide fire protection for oil-cooled machine tools.

The current product highlight is the electrostatic AC 3001 magnesium filter.

This filter is part of a protection concept which has been successfully implemented for processing centres used for magnesium machining with water-soluble cooling lubricants (emulsion and oil).

This protection concept allows for a reliable and efficient machining of the magnesium material, which, thanks to its low weight, offers particularly high potentials for the automotive and aerospace industry.

The new AC 1000 compact filter can be installed in vertical or horizontal position.

With a length of 805mm, a height of 308mm (without adjustable foot) and a width of 618mm (horizontal installation), the new AC 1000 compact filter offers a filter surface of 6.8m2.

Another product innovation is the double-function AC 2000 dust filter for aerosol and dust separation.

An aerosol chamber with jet effect and baffle plate and a second aerosol chamber with agglomeration effect or respectively designed cartridges serve the reliable filtering of cooling lubricant aerosols, polishing dust, welding smoke, laser smoke and blasting dust and prove effective when it comes to plasma and flame cutting operations.

The LTA AC 3000 series is now operated with a further enhanced universal ioniser, which is compatible with the previous ionisers, provides for easier cleaning, helps to avoid maintenance works and simplifies the management of spare parts inventory.

All grinding machines exhibited at the Junker booth during the EMO 2005 were equipped with LTA suction and safety technology.

Also many other machine manufacturers presented their products together with the proven suction technology by LTA Lufttechnik.

LTA Lufttechnik joined the Junker group in 1995 and has proven as a reliable partner for turnkey solutions in the field of air technology.

The company designs, produces and supplies air filter and fire protection systems for trade and industry.

As one of the first companies in this sector, LTA Lufttechnik was certified in accordance with VDA 6.4.

The systems serve the suction and cleaning of oil and emulsion mist on machine tools as well as the suction and cleaning of welding and soldering smoke and provide explosion and fire protection for oil-cooled machine tools.

They are available as individual or centralised suction units for suction or recirculating operations or as hall suction units.

Amongst others, the devices are used as original equipment for machine tools manufactured by renown manufacturers, for applications in the automotive industry as well as for retrofitting tasks on existing machines in small- and medium-sized companies.

Thanks to its long-standing experience in developing and building filters and its innovative concepts, LTA Lufttechnik has been able to maintain its position as market leader for decades.

A comprehensive range of accessories rounds off the product portfolio with, for example, maintenance and cleaning systems as well as safety accessories such as pressure relief and fire protection flaps.

Products made by LTA Lufttechnik comply with all national and international safety regulations and hold the following certificates: * Oil separation capacity, tested by ILK Dresden.

* Emulsion separation capacity, tested by the Technical Control Board TUV.

* QM system in accordance with VDA 6 Part 4 of the 'Quality standard of the German automotive industry' on the basis of DIN EN ISO 9001/9004-1.

* Fire protection systems, tested by the IBEXU institute.
