Leading sheet metalworking equipment manufacturer will be showing at MACH 2006 a CNC Punch Press with robot sheet loading and part picking system and a high speed laser cutting machine Leading sheet metalworking equipment manufacturer LVD is to exhibit at MACH 2006 after a break of four years

LVD's 'Focus' for the show will be to exhibit some of its' latest 'high end' machine tool and software solutions for sheet metalworking.

LVD will be exhibiting two new machines never exhibited in the UK before.

Machines to be shown for the first time are: - A Global 20 1225 High Flexibility and Productivity CNC Punch Press complete with an Automated Robot Sheet Loading and Part Picking System, suited to medium to high productivity jobs requiring labour reduction.

An Axel 3015 5Kw Linear High Speed CNC Laser Cutting Machine with integrated shuttle tables, ideal for fast and efficient turn round of small to medium size batches.

LVD will also exhibit an advanced PPEB Hydraulic Downstroking CNC Pressbrake fitted with LVD's patented Easy Form Laser in process angle monitoring and correction system.

In combination with the machine tools being shown LVD will also show its leading CADMAN offline software solutions including CADMAN B 3D - Bending, CADMAN P - Punching, and CADMAN L - Laser cutting, demonstrating how LVD can uniquely combine the manufacturing processes providing customers with the fastest route from 'Art to Part'.

LVD will be 'Focusing' upon demonstrating to clients how with LVD technology they can tackle efficiently and flexibly the challenges faced in today's UK manufacturing market.

A couple of prime examples of companies that LVD has already helped and is continuing to work with are: * Newcastle-based Tharsus Engineering, for example, has purchased an 4kW LVD Axel 3015S shuttle bed flying optic CNC laser cutting machine and two LVD CNC press brakes complete with LVD's CADMAN B - 3D and CADMAN L offline software.

As Brian Palmer managing director of Tharsus Engineering explains: "We had a good look at what was available on the market before we decided to go with LVD.

This investment will allow us to offer our clients a faster, more responsive and cost-effective service across a broad range of products." * Another recent order also demonstrates this demand for flexibility.

Dutton Engineering of Sandy, Bedfordshire, has just invested in an Impuls 4020R 4kW flying optic CNC laser cutting machine with a shuttle table and integral rotary axis.

The machine is configured so it can change seamlessly from cutting flat plate to processing tube with no online set up time between sheet and tube components.

Managing director Andrew Read says that during their research into which machine to purchase they established that the LVD 4020R is unique in its design.

"Not only can we process 4m by 2m sheet, but we can also profile tube and section up to 500mm in diameter and 4m long.

We can be cutting flat sheet one minute and then within seconds we can be cutting tube.

It gives our business massive flexibility." Matt Fowles, sales and marketing manager of LVD, says that this reflects the way that LVD has focused on the changing needs of the market.

"Successful companies need to be able to respond to the demands for smaller batch sizes, tighter lead times and reduced margins.

With its 'Art to Part' concept LVD has brought together the software and technical features that allow companies to go from CAD drawings to complete profiled and formed parts in hours rather than days.

What is more, developments such as the Easy Form Laser in process angle monitoring and correction system mean that parts are right first time every time - which is vital if you want to make small batches profitably.

Above all, customers really appreciate the fact that we are not just offering machines, but a flexible, productive and integrated solution." Fowles says: "We had a strong performance and substantial growth in the second and third quarters of 2005 with a huge lift in the UK manufacturing market confidence.

We are looking forward to discussing and demonstrating to new and existing clients how we can provide them with flexible, productive and an integrated solution to their production needs in 2006 and beyond." * About LVD - the LVD group is a leading worldwide designer, manufacturer and distributor of a comprehensive range of sheet metal / plate working machine tools and software solutions, including laser cutting systems, turret punch presses, press brakes, guillotines and automated flexible manufacturing systems - all supported by its CADMAN PC-based, Windows compatible programming system for punching, laser cutting and bending.

The Group's UK subsidiary, LVD, has its headquarters, showroom and service centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

* LVD at MACH 2006, NEC, Birmingham, UK, May 15-19, Hall 4, Stand 4665.
