As part of their planned program of strategic growth, Sussex, UK, based Marco Weighing Systems have acquired Kent and Sussex Scales.

As part of their planned program of strategic growth, Sussex based Marco Weighing Systems have acquired Kent and Sussex Scales Limited.

Marco have expanded significantly over the past five years, providing bespoke weighing and control solutions to a growing number of internationally recognised companies, including Geest, Coty Cosmetics, Glaxo Smith Kline, Henkel, Initial City Link and Barrs Soft Drinks.

Kent and Sussex Scales supply a wide range of industrial and medical scales throughout the Home Counties and over the past 25 years they have built a strong reputation for service and support, especially in areas such as food processing, fruit packing and hospitals.

The acquisition is part of Marco's planned 'Hub and Spoke' expansion and Technical Director, Murray Hilborne is very upbeat about the future.

"We are delighted to welcome Kent and Sussex Scales to our organisation.

In contrast to Kent and Sussex Scales, our customers are widespread throughout the UK and Europe.

We realise that it is often easy to focus on business further afield and miss opportunities right on the doorstep.

This acquisition opens up exciting opportunities for us to expand our business in this important geographical area and, in parallel, we can better support the existing business base of Kent and Sussex Scales." Marco are keen to stress that the acquisition brings strong benefits to both new and existing customers.

As Hilborne concludes: "Mergers and acquisitions are often done solely for apparent commercial reasons, with scant regard for customers or employees.

This is certainly not the case here and our objective is to build upon the excellent reputation already established by Kent and Sussex Scales.".
