Rotherham-based rare earth permanent magnet manufacturer Magnequench has appointed Andrew Myers as sales manager.

Andrew was previously in sales and marketing at Lumberg Industrial Controls, and an applications engineer with electro-mechanical connectors specialist Wearnes Hollingsworth.

He has extensive experience of advising engineering companies on the selection of components for their products, from major OEMs to one-man businesses with a good idea to develop.

His appointment follows the company's change of name from Ugimag Limited at the end of 2000, when the international Ugimag Group was acquired by the USA 's Magnequench "Part of Andrew's brief is to apply Magnequench's philosophy of sharing its technical know-how with its customers," says general manager Dr Simon Muter.

"In suitable cases we can give design engineers access to the company's unique Technology Centre in the States, where they can work alongside magnet specialists to develop working prototypes.".
