Diamond core speeds up flush mount installations

A Marcrist International product story

Purpose built diamond core enables electrical installers to save time and money as the core lets the user produce accurate openings for flush mount switchbox fittings quickly and easily.

Leading diamond tool manufacturer Marcrist International has developed the first purpose built diamond core to enable electrical installers in the UK to save time and money! The core lets the user produce accurate openings for flush mount switchbox fittings quickly and easily with no mess in a quarter of the time.

Whilst our continental cousins have had the foresight to use diamond cores to drill for their sunken boxes for years, we have until now, because of our box profiles, still been using the age-old method of a hammer and chisel.

Using the specially designed Marcrist 78mm core, all sizes of boxes can now be drilled out from 25mm to 57mm deep with only the corners needing a final tidy up with a chisel in the normal way.

Unlike other methods where hammer action on the drill is needed, the diamond core with its high cutting speed and low vibration is able to help sink boxes in difficult materials such as hard concrete block, brick and even stone.

There is also an option to use the core with a Marcrist Combi unit for dust free drilling in an occupied property.
