Master Chemical Product Manager and Director of Marketing Frank Robinson announced the test results saying, "Having exceeded the requirements of OECD Method 301D, the test for Ready Biodegradability, TASK2 can now be labelled 'Readily Biodegradable'." Cleaner machine tools, prolonged coolant life and lower operating costs are three main benefits experienced by Stanley Tools since making the switch to TRIM C270 synthetic grinding coolant.
In the degradation testing, the time it takes a product to break down in the environment, TASK2 required just half the time allowed by the standard.
While many products claim to be biodegradable, Master Chemical sought official documentation.

"It means TASK2 is one of the most user- and environment-friendly products available - strong on industrial grease and grime, yet safe for consumer use.
We can, with confidence, say TASK2 will not harm the environment." TASK2 is currently being market tested with consumers for the tough jobs around the home - from automobile, boat and recreational vehicle care to backyard grills - even pre-treating greasy stains on laundry.
It is Master Chemical's first foray into the competitive consumer market place.
Robinson says, "Based on the product's outstanding success in the industrial market and the tremendous feedback we've received from industrial users who tried TASK2 around the house and in the garage, we decided to take TASK2 to the consumer market." Safe for all metals, TASK2 cleans up carbon residue and oil-heavy and greasy soils from just about anything, including machine parts and tools, bench tops, walls, floors, vehicles, wheels, tires, fabrics, plastic laminates, glass and fibreglass.
As an industrial degreaser, TASK2 is used full strength from a convenient spray bottle or diluted in ultrasonic and agitated dip washers.
A general, all-purpose cleaner, it also works well for steam cleaning, vibratory finishing and de-burring processes.
In addition to being readily biodegradable, TASK2 has a mild pH and a very light, pleasant scent.
TASK2 contains no silicates, phosphates, phenols, boron, biocides, CFCs or other chlorinated solvents.
It's non-toxic, non-flammable, noncorrosive, noncaustic, and butyl-free and TASK2 is supplied in convenient spray bottles, 20 litres pails, 204 litre drums or 1000 litre totes.
