Lubricant increases SS/alloy grinding
productivity
Cutting lubricant has been formulated to increase the productivity of grinding machines working aerospace metals and alloys such as titanium and stainless steel.
There are occasions when an 'off-the-shelf' neat metalworking oil just can't deliver the performance required for a specific task said Master Chemical Europe The company said it is often asked by its customers to formulate products that address specific manufacturing problems and the latest addition to its standard range has been created as a result of this process

Coolant cleans up surface and edge grinding
Cleaner machine tools, prolonged coolant life and lower operating costs are three main benefits experienced by Stanley Tools since making the switch to TRIM C270 synthetic grinding coolant.
Master Chemical's TRIM OG215 will increase the productivity of grinding machines working aerospace metals and alloys such as titanium and stainless steel.
The potential to increase manufacturing volume of parts made from these materials can often be compromised by the inability of the neat metalworking oil to do its job at greater feed rates.
This was the experience of one particular customer who had tried a range of options but could not boost productivity without a corresponding increase in reject parts.
TRIM OG215 has resolved the dilemma and is now available to other manufacturers working to high aerospace standards.
It has proven its ability to increase productivity by as much as 66% and still maintain the quality finish required.
Based on a highly refined Group III base oil, TRIM OG215 contains no chlorinated or active sulphur EP additives which ensures its acceptability for all aerospace manufacturing operations.
Despite this lack of traditional EP additives, TRIM OG215's ester technology has proven to give comparables performance to the usual high EP oils traditionally used for this application, said Master Chemical.
The hydro-cracked base oil in TRIM OG215 ensures the product has extremely low volatility and hence, extremely low levels of mist, even at high pressures.
Its low viscosity also means it easily passes through a 10 micron filter, something the previous oil used to block.
