Latest developments in safety relays sees height reduced from 16.5mm to 14.5mm, and coil power consumption brought down to 300mW from 500mW.

Matsushita Electric Works has now introduced the next generation of safety relay The SF relay has been part of Matsushita's range for over 10 years and has now evolved into an improved version

The new device, currently referred to as SFN, sees improvements over the current versions in a number of areas.

The case height has been reduced from 16.5mm to 14.5mm, and coil power consumption is down to 300mW from 500mW.

Re-enforced insulation has been introduced in all areas of the relays; contact to coil and contact sets.

Also, double contacts have been introduced as standard.

The SFN has a contact arrangement of 4 Form A and 2 Form B, the Form A and one of the Form B contacts are available for signal and power switching.

The remaining Form B contact is intended exclusively for monitoring and feedback functions so that the condition of the relay is known at all times.
