Machine vision system is 40 times faster
A new generation of machine vision systems from Panasonic Electric Works UK is claimed to reduce the processing time required by previous generations of image processing systems.
Each controller is expandable with its own I/O system, but can be further expanded with existing I/O combinations from the already established Panasonic FP0 product range, allowing a total I/O count of up to 366 I/O to be realised.
In addition to these capabilities there is a range of plug-in cassette modules that allow the FP-X to perform numerous functions including serial communications, high speed counting and analogue processing.
A robust 85-265V AC power supply has been incorporated into the FP-X allowing reliable use throughout the world and making it capable of withstanding voltage fluctuations up to 600V.
In addition to this feature the OEM user has the ability to totally eliminate the possibility of their program code being copied by disabling the ability to upload the PLC code.
This feature is in addition to an 8-digit password protection facility.
The standard RS232C programming port is complimented by a USB programming port allowing direct connection to the latest PCs via commercially available USB leads, eliminating the need for costly converters.
Programming of the controller can easily be performed using the IEC61131 compliant programming system, FP-WIN PRO5, or the standard FPWIN-GRV2 Ladder Logic programming software.
Both systems take full advantage of an established instruction list and function block library and can process them at a speed of 0.325S per step.
In addition to Panasonic's proprietary PLC LINK communications network, MODBUS RTU functionality is a standard function within the FP-X instruction set.
Supporting both Master and Slave operations this allows proven, reliable, communications with a wide range of third party products that support this industry standard network.
The global design concept of the FP-X means it meets CE, UL, CSA, JIS and RoHS standards and directives allowing the user the comfort of knowing that the unit can be reliably exported around the world.
