Eight-axis turning centres make their debut
Two 8-axis turning centres, one with Y-axis movements, have two spindles and its two turrets are positioned above and below the workpiece and can both work at either spindle.
CNC lathe set-up is flexible to meet future needs
Flexible set-up of a fixed head CNC production lathe allows the user to specify the machine - tooling up and down to suit its needs - giving a machine that is flexible to market trends.
Miyano launched three CNC turning centres at the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool show and reported the sale of a Miyano ABX64-TH3 turning centre on day two of the event.
The buyer was Reliance Precision in Cork, ireland.
Reliance Precision makes gears, couplings and leadscrews and the sale of the Miyano 10-axis ABX64-TH3 turning centre had been instigated by the Miyano UK agent in Ireland, Premier Machine Tools.
At MACH 2008, Miyano UK concentrated upon flexibility and user friendliness and the Miyano BNJ-51SY2, BNE-51SY5 and ABX-64TH3 turning centres.
The turning centres perform one-hit machining and handle expensive parts without causing damage.
The ABX sale to Reliance is a casing point of the Miyano UK, one-hit machining solutions for complex components.
The Reliance acquisition includes a swarf conveyor and barfeed plus additional peripheral equipment that has given the Irish company a true 'turnkey package'.
Suitable for machining components up to 64mm diameter, the new ABX-64TH3 three turret machine has been equipped to drive down set-up times, increase unmanned running and improve ease of use.
The ABX-64TH3 incorporates a manual guide programming system designed to assist the programming of complex components and enhanced control features include load monitoring.
Also well received, said Miyano UK to manufacturingtalk, was the BNJ-51SY2 turning centre.
It is a development of the well established BNJ-42SY turning centre, and has a 51mm diameter capacity.
Miyano UK said the machine drew considerable interest at MACH from companies looking to machine complex parts in one set-up in the size range outside that of sliding head lathes.
Miyano UK also exhibited the BNE-51SY5 at MACH.
This 8-axis turning centre generated a remarkable level of interest at MACH as it has been improved to deliver ease of use, flexibility and unmanned running beyond the scope of competitor machines.
