Matrox co-founder honoured for business leadership and technological innovation

The Matrox group of companies is proud to announce that co-founder Lorne Trottier has been named to the Order of Canada, one of the nation's highest honours.

Nominated for his business leadership and technological innovations, Mr Trottier is also known locally for his generous contributions to education and health care, including McGill University, the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, and the Lakeshore General Hospital (Pointe Claire, Quebec).

At a later date, Mr Trottier and his fellow inductees will receive their insignia at a ceremony in the Canadian capital city of Ottawa.

In 2003, Mr Trottier received Le Prix Lionel-Boulet, an award for researchers who have distinguished themselves through their leadership in scientific development and contribution to Quebec's economic growth.

Established in 1967, the Order of Canada is the nation's highest honour, recognising individuals for their outstanding contributions in various fields of human endeavor.
