Verify CNC programs without cutting a part
NC file editor, 3D viewer, back-plotter and verification utility are combined to offer CNC tool path verification directly on the shop floor without ever making a part cut.
Maverick Systems Corporation, a leader in the machine tool and plasticating service industry, announces the release of Innovative Support Services' Vega DATA-View NC File Editor, 3D Viewer, Back-Plotter and Verification utility for CNC tool path verification directly on the shop floor without ever making a part cut.
When it comes to cutting parts, a picture truly does say a thousand words! The Vega DATA-View utility is simple to use with intuitive tools to provide maximum viewing capabilities of your control's program files.
DATA-View allows you to verify the cutter path by processing the tool path as the CNC would.
DATA-View executes all motion as well as canned cycles, M-codes, G-codes, spindle speeds, tool codes and feedrates.
The tool path verification feature permits the operator to see potential errors and surface violations before they end up on the part, which reduces scrap and broken cutters.
The DATA-View NC File Editor allows an operator to view the tool path to aid in set up, clamp placement, tooling information, cutting feeds, spindle speeds, and minimum/maximum cutter locations.
The play back feature can be used to run the program graphically to see how the CNC will execute the program.
Advanced features include a CNC panel to track and display active M and G codes and canned cycle definitions are displayed for easy tracking.
Most importantly, the Vega DATA-View allows the operator to view the NC data in several different ways depending on viewing needs: * Entire file.
* Feed rates with or without rapid commands.
* Tools.
* Individual tools.
* Executed block.
* Selected region.
* Unique M and G codes.
The Vega DATA-View now supports solids as well.
As a software add-on, the solids version can read ASCII and binary STL files to provide operators a display of the cutter path on top of the solid model.
View the STL file with either single or multiple cutter path files.
The solids component also has a 5-axis option that displays the tool on its actual vector.
This allows the operator to see potential problems associated with the complexities of 5-axis machining.
The solids version supports DXF exporting of the cutter path data.
Convert your cutter path data into DXF format to use in other CAD systems or application programs.
"We are providing the DATA-View Software as a free demo from our web site so that users can see the vast amount of rich features this simple to use, yet powerful and robust, software has available".
"For manufacturing operations whose production processes depend on CNCs and CAD systems to integrate efficiently, and whose production bottom line demands high quality parts with little to no scrap, we think DATA-View is right on target to meet the demands of machine tool and production/manufacturing operations," says Shelly Haffly of Maverick Systems Corporation.
"DATA-View gives CNC operators the ability to cross-reference and share data with engineering and input files directly into the control".
"Editing on demand on the shop floor is sometimes a necessity, and being able to export the files back to engineering is a huge benefit in a high production environment." Haffly goes on to estimate the part savings possible by the reduced set up time and the operator's ability to see set up options before cutting a sample part".
""Any tool, or in this case software, that assists the operator to set up properly and without mistakes is a quick and easy return on investment measure".
"And with a price that starts at $250 for the basic software package, its an extremely cost effective way to increase production, reduce scrap, and bring the shop floor and engineering back in sync," says Haffly.
