Uniquely entertaining one day Seminars take place on 16 and 17 June

Learning about Lean Thinking in a uniquely entertaining way forms part of an enterprising series of lean-based Seminars that are to staged by ERP systems company, McGuffie Brunton and Manufacturing Awareness Limited, which specialises in the implementation of Lean Thinking in all types of manufacturing companies The first two one day Seminars take place in Manchester on 16th and 17th June

Their aim is to break through the lean language barrier of "poka yoke", "Six Sigma" and "SMED" and provide attendees with a basic understanding of lean terminology, lean techniques and how their companies can re-position themselves as lean businesses.

Due to the nature of the exercises, in which the instructors will focus their efforts on developing each individual's understanding of lean and the attendant techniques, the number of delegates will be restricted to 15 per Seminar.

The cost is 50 pounds per person and bookings can be made direct with Emma Hampson at McGuffie Brunton on tel: 0161 876 4498.

Chris McKellen, Managing Director of Manufacturing Awareness, says: "Far from being a dry and theatrical lecture, or death by PowerPoint, delegates will learn about lean in a uniquely entertaining way through a series of practical, team based exercises, interspersed with short explanatory presentations." During the Seminar, there will an exercise called "KanDo Lean" which will illustrate Lean Techniques without people realising that they are really implementing Lean.

The latter part of the day will be devoted to showing how an ERP or MRP system can be used to support a lean business.

McGuffie Brunton, which employs 72 people at its Manchester head office and three other facilities throughout the UK, offers solutions in enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management, advanced planning and scheduling, warehouse management, human resources and e-business.
