AJ Wells Fires Up Business with Syspro
Rapidly expanding stove, fire and vitreous enamelling manufacturer, AJ Wells and Sons has joined a growing number of companies to implement an integrated CRM/ERP system
Rapidly expanding stove, fire and vitreous enamelling manufacturer, AJ Wells and Sons has joined a growing number of companies to implement an integrated CRM/ERP system in order to better manage their manufacturing and sales and marketing activities.
Sales of the company's vitreous enamelled products, which includes the supply of signs to London Underground stations, have risen by 100% year on year and sales of the Charnwood branded wood-burning stoves and fires side of the business increased by 15% last year.
AJ Wells manufactures a wide range of products from its plant in Newport, Isle of Wight and buys in raw materials including castings for its stoves and fires operation from all over the UK and the rest of Europe.
Having sought a replacement for an ageing DOS-based Pegasus Opera package, the management team at AJ Wells turned to McGuffie Brunton and selected Syspro following a full and thorough evaluation of five manufacturing-based software packages, including Navision.
As part of the overall Syspro solution, AJ Wells will use a web access facility, integrated with the CRM, that will enable the firm's UK field sales personnel to access stock figures and place orders directly into Syspro, instead of phoning, faxing or e-mailing orders.
The system also has the capability for AJ Wells' key customers to access stock and input orders directly.
John Wells, Managing Director of AJ Wells , commented: "Our key objective is to greatly improve the visibility of our business data, to track work through the factory, and to have better controls in place that will allow us to make more accurate business decisions." He added: "When McGuffie Brunton presented Syspro to us it was obvious that they knew what they were talking about and so this gave us the confidence to proceed.
As time has gone on we have found that our confidence has not been misplaced and we are impressed as much with McGuffie's as we are with Syspro.
During their initial presentations, they impressed us with their grasp of our needs and requirements, and in the ongoing support and implementation they have continued to answer all our questions, thus paving the way for a smooth go live.".
