McGuffie Brunton Supports Best Factory Awards
Innovation through Technology is at the Heart of the 2005 Best Factory Awards
McGuffie Brunton is supporting the prestigious and long running Best Factory Awards by sponsoring the Innovation Award for UK manufacturers that are succeeding through improvement in today's fierce international markets.
Organised by Works Management in partnership with Cranfield School of Management, the 2005 Best Factory Awards (now in their 13th year) stand out from many other award schemes because of their rigorous judging procedures, which examine every aspect of a manufacturer's operational performance.
In particular, the judges are seeking evidence of companies continuously driving forward with quality, delivery performance, stock turns and productivity, to improve their business.
Explaining why they chose to support the Awards, especially the Best Factory Award for the Innovation category, Howard Joseph, Sales Director for McGuffie Brunton, commented: "It is incredibly challenging to be a manufacturer in this country, but it can also be incredibly rewarding.
By looking at every aspect of the production cycle, and then beyond the factory walls, you can make the necessary improvements to thrive, not just survive." He added: "We are seeing improvements with our customers week in, week out.
People who install and use our systems are looking for business benefits.
It is not a case of merely replacing one stock control system with another, or one accounting system with another, it is about starting to become more innovative in terms of how you use the technology to support better processes.
"Innovation is also about doings things that you have not done before in your particular business." McGuffie Brunton is well placed to sponsor the Awards, having first hand experience of helping to improve the performances of over 600 UK companies.
Syspro is also sponsoring the Best Small Company category.
Presentation of the 2005 Best Factory Awards will take place at a ceremonious lunch on 20th September at The London Hilton on Park Lane.
