McLaren announces Enterprise Engineer
McLaren has introduced McLaren Enterprise Engineer, a family of configurable, out-of-the-box content management applications built on the Documentum ECM platform.
McLaren, a fast-growing provider of engineering-based enterprise applications for the process manufacturing, utilities, engineering, design and construction markets, today introduced McLaren Enterprise Engineer, a family of configurable, content management applications built on the Documentum ECM platform that provide a comprehensive solution for managing all types of engineering content across the enterprise.
Using McLaren Enterprise Engineer, organisations can manage engineering documents, CAD drawings, their lifecycles and associated business processes in a secure and auditable way, in line with industry best practices.
McLaren Enterprise Engineer enables companies to quickly implement a user-configurable system that incorporates their specific business rules, while providing flexibility to change and expand, to meet ever-evolving business process and regulatory requirements.
McLaren Enterprise Engineer is the only out-of-box engineering content management application that can be used to link engineering content with key business processes within and beyond a global enterprise.
For more than a decade, McLaren has been providing specialised document management applications to the engineering market, and its customers include some of the world's largest and most successful engineering companies.
Until now, organisations seeking a content management solution that addresses engineers' highly specialised needs had to rely on departmental solutions with limited functionality or custom development.
The launch of Enterprise Engineer - in direct response to market demand - reflects the company's increased focus on this growing sector.
According to Monica Schnitger, Senior VP of Market Analysis, Daratech, a leading IT and market research firm for manufacturing, engineering, construction and plant operations: "Our research across the manufacturing sector has shown that users are demanding out-of-the-box content management applications.
McLaren was one of the first technology suppliers to recognise this need; as a result, McLaren is currently the fastest growing vendor of content management applications for the manufacturing industry.
The company is extending its leadership with the introduction of McLaren Enterprise Engineer." "McLaren Enterprise Engineer will enable businesses to maximise the value of engineering content and leverage the rich content management functionality of the Documentum 5 platform, while minimizing the cost of re-work and mitigating the risk and cost of non-compliance," said Dave DeWalt, president and CEO of Documentum.
"Documentum has a strong community of independent software vendors, such as McLaren, who brings valuable domain expertise and a powerful product designed to meet the specialised needs of the engineering market.".
