Vacuum casting materials have excellent HDT values
Vacuum casting resins with excellent HDT properties plus the ability to pigment resins to match all pantone or RAL colours are now available to produce complex plastics prototypes.
New vacuum casting resins with excellent HDT properties plus the ability to pigment resins to match all pantone or RAL colours are now available from MCP Tooling Technologies.
Still the leading process for the speedy creation of high quality, complex plastic prototypes, the vacuum casting process can shorten development cycles and reduce costs.
MCP's latest vacuum casting resin, MCP 2185, offers a glass transition temperature of 150 deg C, and has been formulated for the rapid production of under bonnet prototype parts such as heater manifolds and air boxes.
This black resin also has excellent mechanical properties and a shore hardness of 80 D.
HDT is 130 deg C.
MCP still offers its 8090 resin, which is easily pigmented and normally used for prototyping parts for white goods such as kettles, irons and electric boxes.
However some customers producing these types of parts need a stiffer resin to cope with thin wall sections - therefore a new resin has been introduced.
New MCP 2181 is also pigmentable and has a HDT of 145 deg C and glass transition of 170 deg C.
MCP has also introduced a new colour matching service, which allows customers to produce parts in accurate pantone or RAL shades by using a special Colour Matching Kit.
After purchase of the Kit, customers simply phone MCP with their required colour reference and are given a percentage formulation, which is then made up from the 15 pigments supplied with the Kit.
This formulation is then added to MCP's clear SG95 casting resin to achieve the required shade of finished part.
