Micro injection machine for high tolerance work
MCP will introduce two machines at K, the first being the company's eagerly awaited 12/90 Micro injection moulding machine.
MCP will introduce two machines at K, the first being the company's eagerly awaited 12/90 Micro injection moulding machine.
Designed to deliver high tolerance, multi-drop, runnerless micro mouldings, this all-electric, clean room-ready machine has a maximum clamping force of 9 tonnes.
New 12/90 Micro will join the company's existing family of 12/90 compact moulding machines but will deliver a totally new capability to manufacturers looking to produce parts with shots sizes from a few miligrammes up to a maximum of 1.6 grammes.
MCP is keen to emphasise that the new machine is not simply a scaled down version of its existing range.
The company recognises that Micro moulding is a specialist technique in its own right and, as innovators of the miniturisation of screw over plunger technology, have developed it further to meet the increasing demand for very tiny parts.
MCP's Bob Bennett said, "This is a totally different machine for manufacturers in the medical device, micro engineering, electronic and telecommunications sectors.
We have been able to dramatically reduce the amount of material in transit so there is little risk of degradation for sensitive materials.
Direct injection also means no sprue, no runner and no waste." At the show, MCP will show the machine with a multi drop, direct injection tool.
MCP's second new machine is the all-electric 12/90 VSE for precision insert or over-moulding.
With a power consumption of just 0.6kw/hour this machine is ideal for the manufacture of medical devices.
With a tie bar-free clamping system, 12/90 VSE is particularly suitable for catheters or any mouldings with leads at both ends and it can incorporate sliding or rotary tables.
