Force gauge system checks toy parts
Giftware supplier is using a force gauge system to test their range of plush toys to meet BS EN 71.1:1998 (Safety of Toys - Part 1: Mechanical and Physical Properties).
Carte Blanche Greetings, a supplier of plush giftware, is using a Mecmesin force gauge system to test their range of plush toys Their plush toy products are manufactured to European toy safety standard BS EN 71.1:1998 (Safety of Toys - Part 1: Mechanical and Physical Properties) and to meet this standard small parts attached to the plush must withstand a 90N tension test

Measure tensile and compressive loading in parts
A particularly cost-effective technique for evaluating manufactured products, materials and components is to measure their ability to sustain applied tensile or compressive loads.
The force gauge system used to test the plush toys consists of a MDD manual test stand, an AFG 250N digital force gauge and a variety of fixtures, suitable for testing a wide variety of plush toy shapes and sizes.
This system enable Carte Blanche Greetings to determine that the small parts on the plush toys can resist a specified force, meeting the requirements of the European toy safety standard and assisting in product design.
"The Mecmesin test stand, force gauge and accessories meet all our in-house testing requirements and are quick and easy to use.
Mecmesin equipment is an important tool in our Product Safety and Quality Assurance System," said Steve Brooker at Carte Blanche Greetings. Request a free brochure from Mecmesin ...
