Sublimation printing is cost-effective

A Mega Electronics product story

A sublimation printing system provides a cost-effective way to produce front panels, signs and labels on a variety of substrates in full colour.

Mega Electronics has developed a sublimation printing system that provides a cost-effective way to produce front panels, signs and labels on a variety of substrates in full colour.

The new system, which is ideally suited to in-house 'one off' to medium-quantity production of industrial signs, nameplates and labels, is based on special inks and substrates which allow the user's own design - produced using special release paper on a low-cost ink-jet colour printer - to be transferred directly into the surface of the material using a simple heating press.

Because the image is actually embedded in the surface of the substrate, no over-lamination is necessary.

The equipment is simple to use, and a printed substrate can be produced within 2-3 minutes.

The system can be used on a variety of materials, including fibreglass, polyester, polycarbonate, aluminium-coated and magnetic sheets.

In addition, Mega's patented ano-transfer sub-surface anodised aluminium sheets allow the image to be sealed under the surface for complete durability against solvents and scratching.

Typical applications include safety signs, control panels, nameplates, bar-code labels, touch membranes and computer mouse mats.

A start-up package costs less than GBP 1000.
