Economical former assembles Bliss boxes rapidly

A Moen Industries product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Mar 25, 2003

Equipped with three hoppers that are loadable from floor level, an economically-three-piece Bliss former rapidly assembles u to 35 high strength corrugated Bliss boxes/min and save cost.

Packed with extra features, the new economically-priced PF 129-B 3-Piece Bliss Former from Moen Industries rapidly assembles high strength corrugated Bliss boxes that save packaging cost.

The PF 129-B comes equipped with three hoppers that are loadable from floor level, and also provides positive body wrap positioning under the vertical mandrel, quick size change adjustments, and vacuum picking of all three box components.

The standard model uses Moen's M3-A pressurized hot melt glue system and reaches production speeds of up to 35 cases per minute.

Compared to standard RSC boxes, a 3-piece Bliss box with 2in internal flanges offers more compression strength using the same or less corrugated materials.

By increasing the board weight in end panels and keeping the body wrap blank at the same weight, in most cases the Bliss design provides a stronger box at less cost.

The PF 129-B can produce both internal flange bliss boxes and cut-corner internal flange bliss boxes.

The quick size change adjustment gives the versatility to assemble boxes from 8 to 20in (20 to 51cm) long, 8 to 20in (20 to 51cm) wide, and 4 to 14in (10 to 36cm) deep.

The PF 129-B includes an Allen Bradley PLC control system with a color touch screen control panel/operator interface.

A stainless steel paint finish and one year warranty are standard.
