Thin Turret Tooling Metal fabricators visiting EMO 2003 will see Mate's new Thin Turret Tooling for Strippit Presses - as well as innovative tooling solutions such as SnapLock and Hinge Tooling - demonstrated by tooling experts at Stand C25 Hall 10.

New Thin Turret Tooling for Strippit Presses.

Mate1s thin turret tooling for Strippit presses incorporates many features designed to provide exceptional value while reducing overall tooling costs.

The new product has numerous set-up, installation and maintenance advantages and is interchangeable with other suppliers' tool systems.

Mate Tooling For Most Strippit Thin Turret Machine Models Within Mate1s new Strippit tool offering are: (1) 1/2ý Snap Apart Assemblies, (2) 5/8in Drop-In Assemblies (3) Full body assemblies with Slug Free dies for 1-1/4 stations, (4) Punches, strippers and Slug Free dies for 3-1/2 stations, (5) MTG 8 station (0.500) Multi-Tool punches, strippers, Slug Free dies and (6) Special forming assemblies for 1-1/4 and 3-1/2 stations to facilitate expanded punching capabilities.

Product design features provide high performance, long life and exceptional value - Mate punches are manufactured from DuraSteel providing significantly greater durability than popular alternative materials.

The punch points are machined with a 1/4 degree back taper to reduce friction during stripping to offer extended tooling life.

Stripper guides are precisely manufactured from high quality tool steel with superior strength and exceptional accuracy and concentricity.

These features combine to improve piece part quality, extend tool life and reduce tooling costs.

Slug Free Dies Are Standard With Mate/Strippit Tooling Mate1s new Strippit tooling incorporates Slug Free dies to eliminate slug pulling and extend tooling life.

Slug Free dies prevent slugs from returning to the top of the punched sheet during the return sequence of the punching cycle.

Mate SnapLock Tooling Fabricates Joints Without Welding SnapLock tooling creates fabricated assemblies efficiently, effectively and with CNC punch press speed and precision.

SnapLock is a lance and form application tool, which produces self-locking, spring-loaded tabs that snap securely into pre-punched holes.

The tool produces a small button in the top of the form that is semi-sheared to provide a positive mechanical lock when engaged with a hole in the receiving tab.

The tab and hole design locks the two components securely together without the need for welding or additional assembly operations.

SnapLock eliminates spot welding or other fastening operations and is ideal for joining both similar and dissimilar materials.

Available for all model punch presses.

Mate Hinge Tooling Creates Hinge Knuckles On Fabricated Enclosures Mate1s Hinge Tooling produces cleanly contoured knuckle forms, including multiple knuckles, with a three hit process utilizing two tools.

Designed with a robust one-piece upper tool and a lower assembly that allows the tool to bottom out, this tooling system produces hinges directly on door panels and enclosures, eliminating the need for separate hinge components and their assembly.

Mate Hinge Tooling can be used on mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel in thicknesses ranging from 0.030 inch (0.80mm) to 0.060 inch (1.50mm) with pin diameters from 0.062 inch (1.60mm) to 0.188 inch (4.77mm).

Available for all punch press models.
