Manufacturer of tooling equipment and systems for punch presses, Mate Precision Tooling, has announced a number of international sales management promotions.

Mate Precision Tooling has announced the promotion of Paul Sandberg to the position of vice president International Sales.

Sandberg assumes the position from Chet Ferger who will continue on with Mate in a newly created position of vice president of Key Account Sales for North America.

Jack Schneider, president of Mate Precision Tooling, announced the promotions stating, "Both Sandberg and Ferger have made substantial contributions to Mate's world-wide growth.

This new realignment of sales management responsibilities will provide continuity and experienced management for Mate's rapidly growing international tooling markets." * Sandberg promoted to vice president International Sales - Sandberg joined Mate in 1998 as director of Asian Sales headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Through the decade, Sandberg developed customer and dealer relationships throughout China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia giving Mate prominence as the premier tooling supplier in these rapidly growing metal fabrication markets.

According to Schneider, Sandberg's sales management was key to Mate's dramatic growth in Asian markets during the decade.

In his new position, Sandberg has relocated to Mate's Minneapolis, USA, headquartered offices.

A native Minnesotan, Sandberg has strong ties to this area having been born and raised in Willmar, Minnesota.

He graduated from the University of Minnesota's Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and began his career with locally based Timesavers, first as a manufacturing engineer, then Western Sales manager and eventually Asian Sales manager.

* Ferger to manage development of large and specialty North American Mate Tooling customers - Ferger is transitioning from vice president International Sales after 11 years in that position.

Ferger was responsible for growing Mate's international sales five-fold during this period by building a highly effective international dealer network.

According to Schneider, Ferger will continue his relationship with Mate applying his sales, technical and logistical expertise, providing a broader market of large and specialty customers in North America with Mate's superior tooling products and services.
