Mate tools stamp numbers on sheet parts
A sequential numbering tool by Mate Precision Tooling stamps sequential serial numbers, dates and codes - up to six digits - on sheet metal parts produced in CNC punch presses.
Mate Precision Tooling lhas introduced its Enumerator Sequential Numbering Tool for stamping sequential serial numbers, dates and codes in a CNC punch press on fabricated parts Marketing manager for Mate Precision Tooling, Andy Spence Parsons, said that the novel tool system extends the punching capabilities of today's CNC punch presses and delivers added value to products in a way previously not possible

Punch press tooling facilitates quick setups
Quick setup, easy installation, faster maintenance, and interchangeability with other suppliers' tools and tooling systems are the main benefits of tool technology for CNC punch presses.
Useful tips and techniques given for punching
Information on complete punch press tooling systems is published in a catalogue that includes specification detail and application criteria to make the selection process easy.
Parsons, said that sequential numbering up to six digits long allows for accurate product traceability .
It can now be easily accomplished within the punching process, eliminating the need for complex machine programming or a costly secondary operation.
* Tool system operates in two modes - the Mate Enumerator is a thick turret 3.1/2in D station special assembly with integral punch holder.
At the core of the assembly is a robust spring-loaded stamping head with six numerical stamp wheels.
Each wheel features the numbers from 0 to 9 engraved around the circumference.
The spring loaded advancing arm of the stamping head engages with a rocker arm that advances the wheel heads one number at a time, from 000000 to 999999.
The Mate Enumerator operates in two modes as follows.
* Sequential number mode - stamps sequential numbers.
The Enumerator will advance by one number for each complete stroke the tool makes.
The operator can set the starting number and depth of penetration.
* Fixed number mode - stamps fixed numbers such as date, batch number, or part number.
The operator can set starting number and depth of penetration.
Additional Mate Enumerator design features include the following.
* Four external keyways in the 3.1/2in D station punch holder allows orientation of the assembly at 0, 90,180 or 270 deg.
* Standard Enumerator character height of 0.118in (3.00mm) and optional heights available of 6 x 0.098in (2.50mm), 6 x 0.078in (2.00mm) and 6 x 0.059in (1.50mm).
* Depth of penetration of the stamped digit is adjustable in 0.002in (0.05mm) increments for precise control of number appearance.
* Enumerator tool system is designed for use on material thicknesses from 0.020in (0.50mm) to 0.250in (6.35mm).
* Fully self-contained and requires no additional software or machine code.
Operates on any thick turret punch press with a 3.1/2in D station. Request a free brochure from Mate Precision Tooling ...
