Tapping escalating cleaning, labour and freight costs Tapping the backlash against the escalating cleaning, labor and freight costs of reusable container loop systems, innovative rotomolder Meese Orbitron Dunne Company (MOD) has unveiled Fold-A-Tote.

A versatile intermediate bulk container (IBC), the Fold-A-Tote replaces the labor, cost and risk-intensive cleaning process with a single trip, disposable plastic liner set in a novel reusable container that folds down from a height of 62in when full to 25in when empty for increased shipping and storage efficiencies and reduced costs.

Ideal for the storage and transport of both liquid and powdered products such as adhesives, inks, water-based coatings, juices, flavors, soaps, detergents and other non-regulated food, chemical and pharmaceutical products, the Fold-A-Tote IBC pays for itself after the second trip, according to John Pape Jr, vice president of sales and marketing for MOD.

Most one-way containers cost approximately $200.00 each plus the rising cost of disposal along with environmental concerns.

The MOD Fold-A-Tote has a one-time fee and can be reused numerous times.

After the first trip, the Fold-A-Tote uses a $35.00 replacement liner to save approximately $165.00 per trip compared to the one-way containers while adding a measure of safety and advancing environmental goals.

The MOD Fold-A-Tote features a heavy-duty, reinforced vinyl bag around a two ply, 4-mil liner set within a sturdy, one-piece, rotationally molded polyethylene base.

The 45in x 45in polyethylene base features an innovative 3.5-degree slope to assure optimal drainage and maximum product usage and includes a full, three-inch Valterra slide gate valve as standard.

Unveiled as a 300 gallon IBC, the MOD Fold-A-Tote offers a tare weight of 274 pounds, a 1.2 specific gravity rating and stacks two-high.

A drop-on style, powder coated cover made from 18 gage formed steel grips the rugged frame to prevent spillage.

A stainless steel frame and lid are offered as options.
