With that in mind, the company has completed an exclusive agreement with Idec, the industrial control and automation equipment manufacturer, to replicate its Japanese market success in the UK.
Push button and pilot lights are a key component in most control systems and for Idec those control units form the foundation of its business, with the company claiming market leadership in Japan with 38 per cent of the domestic market.
As a result, MGB will market the new YW series control units from Idec.
The YW series push buttons and pilot lights form a family of 22mm control units from Idec, offering quality but with price levels that can provide the user with a competitive advantage said MGB.
The control unit family comprises of flush, extended and illuminated push buttons, two-positon and three-position selector switches and pilot lights supplied with either incandescent or LED illumination and direct connection or transformer types available.
The YW contact blocks feature a rolling action on the movable contact and raked contact surfaces for higher contact reliability.
The contacts can switch a wide range of loads from 5mA at 3Vdc to 10A at 120Vac.
MGB Electrical and Idec have signed an exclusive agreement allowing MGB to take full advantage of the product launch and gain maximum benefit from the competitive advantages offered by the YW series control units.
MGB has already set price levels for this product and offer assembled push button from £1.46 and pilot lights at £1.09.
