Dr Dietmar Straub, with management experience in the area of mechanical and plant engineering, will be appointed as Chairman of the Board of Management and CEO of mannesmann plastics machinery.

Dr Dietmar Straub, 52, will be appointed as Chairman of the Board of Management and CEO of mannesmann plastics machinery, beginning April 1, 2007 With its four independent brands Krauss-Maffei, Demag Plastics Group, Netstal and Berstorff, mpm is the world's largest group of brand manufacturers in the field of plastics and rubber processing machinery

Headquartered in Munich, mpm is the global market leader in injection moulding technology with total sales of about euro 1.3 billion.

Most recently, Dr Dietmar Straub was a member of the Executive Board of Knorr Bremse, where he assumed responsibility for the business unit "Systems for Commercial Vehicles".

Dr Straub, who completed his doctorate in physics at the University of Wurzburg, has gained longstanding management experience in the area of mechanical and plant engineering.

As Chairman of the Divisional Board of Siemens Dematic, Dr Straub integrated the business units production and logisics automation of Siemens and Mannesmann.

Before, he was a member of the Management Board of Rexroth and implemented a new strategic direction for the division "Factory Automation".

Dr Dietmar Straub will be the successor of Richard C Osborne.

He will lead the mpm Group together with the current members of the Board of Management, Henning Scheele, Dr Otto Urbanek and Peter Sassenfeld.
