Power press carries out automatic blanking and forming with blanks automatically rotated or turned over - allowing even complex parts to be produced as one-operation parts.

Business is running well, the machinery is operating to full potential and now there's a major order on the horizon Where can you get the capacity from without turning the whole business upside down? Beutler Nova, the Swiss press specialist, now provides the answer

Starting now, the Nova automatic blanking press with its tried and tested technology will be available with full automation - courtesy of Beutler Nova's collaboration with Sander, the prestigious automation specialist.

"Many of our customers have relied on Swiss quality for years and would not want to miss it when the series become larger," said Hans Schaerli, the managing director of Beutler Nova, explaining the customers' requirements.

A further factor compounding the situation is that the operations are often geared to the machines of the Nova type already in place.

"That's why we've decided to see the customer through and facilitate the transition to larger series." The basis of the new solution is the Nova twin pitman automatic blanking press with an in-house CCS control.

This NOVA range represents excellent value for money.

With press forces between 125 and 200 tonf (1250-2000kN) and table widths of 1.40-3m, Nova presses cover a broad spectrum of formed products.

So far, the production on a Nova machine has been restricted to progressive production: a system which is indeed cost-effective and saves space, but causes a lot of waste and often requires further time-consuming processing steps.

So what's the answer? "We looked around the market very closely to find an efficient transfer ideally suited to our press," said Benedikt Schenker, head of Technical Development at Beutler Nova.

The decision was made in favor of a transfer solution from Sander Automation.

"The automated Nova press means our customers can now produce parts, which leave the press finished," underlined Schenker, Head of the Engineering Division at Beutler Nova.

The material wastage is reduced by up to 30% with the same output.

In addition, the machine opens up entirely new perspectives in terms of products, as the parts are cut free from the feedstock and can then be rotated or turned over.

Even blanked parts of complex geometry can now be produced as one-operation parts.

Thanks to this press tuning, the speeds of the Nova presses reach up to 110 strokes/min, attended by maximum process reliability.

The customers benefit on the one hand in that they have de-pendable press technology already introduced in the com-pany, and on the other hand they are now in a position to take on larger and more demanding orders by utilizing the same technology.

Employing working practices which the operators are trained in and familiar with also has a positive impact on the operational and process reliability.

The Nova automatic blanking press with automatic transfer therefore represents a high-performance solution for the efficient production of small and medium-size blanked parts.

Ideal fields of application are the automotive supplier industry, consumer electronics and household appliances industry, architectural hardware, the packaging industry and DIY products.
