Versatile crossbar transfer retrofits to presses
As well as replacing existing mechanical and robotic parts feeders, a crossbar transfer system can be retrofitted to mechanical and hydraulic standard press lines.

Servo press technology, as is generally acknowledged by the experts, is set to play a more and more important role in the future of press drive technology.
And Muller Weingarten (MW) is one of the pioneers of this technology.

What are the advantages of servo technology? Generally speaking, servo presses combine the advantages of mechanical presses such as high productivity and comparably low energy consumption with the high flexibility of hydraulic presses throughout the entire stroke rate range.
In a hydraulic press, for example, the travel/time and speed/time profiles can be controlled specifically using direct drives.
Over the course of extensive simulations and calculations, MW developers identified significant performance increases compared to conventional press drives on the basis of a defined range of parts.
"However, speed isn't the only advantage of servo technology," explained R and D director Georg P Holzinger.
"The increased output reduces unit costs, of course, which is a decisive factor for customers." Lifecycle cost calculation also delivers positive arguments for the servo press.
The energy consumption is up to 10% less than in a mechanical press.
This is made possible by an intelligent and efficient energy management system.
In addition, the omission of the clutch/brake combination and the zero-maintenance servo motor drive means that spare parts and maintenance costs are lower.
"We are expecting a very favorable response and a high level of demand, above all for our automatic forging and forming machines as well as the compact presses from our Swiss subsidiary Beutler Nova," stated Helmut Hembach, director of the Mechanical Presses Business Unit.
"Either with conventional or new servo drive - by carrying out a financial efficiency calculation, we can configure the ideal press for the customer based on the range of parts and what the customer actually needs." The power range is from 125 to 2000 tonf (1250kN-20MN) press force, which therefore represents the most comprehensive amongst the competitors.
"We can also add more on top if required," declared Hembach.
In addition to servo press technology, the company will of course be presenting all the products and services for the Muller Weingarten Group brands: For example, the entire range of products and services in areas such as press tuning, modernization, maintenance, etc.
for all the company's brands and for licensed brands such as Bliss, Clearing, Niagra, Versson, Wilkins and Mitchell.
"Now we have purchased the US service company BCN based in Hastings, Michigan, Muller Weingarten is the world's biggest press service provider," smiled Gert-Erik Rummel, director of the Service Business Unit.
"This has laid another important foundation stone for the expansion of our global service business.".
