Powered hand truck delivers safety and efficiency

A Magline product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 17, 2007

Magline, the hand delivery truck company, has introduced the motorised Gemini convertible hand truck which fills a void between standard hand delivery carts and the fork lift truck.

The Powered Gemini Convertible Hand Truck is the latest innovation from leading hand delivery truck company, Magline.

The major benefits of the Powered Gemini lay in its ergonomic design and inbuilt technology.

The motorised truck encourages employee diversity, enhances route efficacy and is a major step forward for heath and safety issues that have blighted logistics and route delivery companies.

The Powered Gemini is allegedly the first powered convertible hand delivery truck in the UK and fills a void between standard hand delivery carts and the fork lift truck.

The powered motor means that loads up to 1000lbs can be easily moved backwards or forwards at walking pace by the press of a paddle switch.

Battery operated; the two speed motor will operate for 2 miles if fully loaded or further if the load is less.

The battery can easily be recharged using a conventional electric socket of vehicle 12v point.

Magline estimates that the truck could pay for itself in a matter of months through savings generated by improved delivery effectiveness and reduced employee work related injury and claims.

The Powered Gemini is operated trough a simple paddle switch and requires very little effort to take a full load up a 15 percent gradient.

This opens the door to people who may never have considered working in hand delivery or logistics, and eases the burden upon the staff and prevents staff-burnout.

"The Powered Gemini could significantly reduce the amount of legal claims being made by individuals against companies for work related injury".

Neil Duggan, Regional Sales Manager from Magline, said, "we have estimated that companies could recoup their investment in as little as six months from purchase".
