Analysing and logging torque characteristics
Supplier of torque related equipment has introduced an electronic torque analyser, a torque wrench with 'slipping' technology and a torque activated logging system.
Torqueleader has introduced the QTC Electronic Torque Analyser, the STB Torque Wrench and a Torque Activated Logging System, which automatically logs a torque wrench operation.
* QTC Electronic Torque Analyser - the instrument is rugged and reliable for testing torque tools quickly and accurately (+/-1% of reading).
It ensures minimal tool down time and maximises tool utilisation.
The ergonomic design includes an angled display to make reading of the achieved torque value much easier.
The QTC has a wide torque range (9-320Nm) and interchangeable 3/8in and 1/2in.
Its versatility is a cost effective calibration solution as it allows the testing of a wide selection of torque wrenches.
* STB Torque Wrench - the STB is a robust torque wrench, which uses Torqueleader's novel 'slipping' technology.
This technology works in the following way.
* The tool slips 110 deg before automatically resetting inline, reducing the possibility of over tightening.
* Compatible with 16mm spigot interchangeable wrench attachments, making for a versatile tool suitable for most applications.
* When used with open end fittings, ideally suited for use in hydraulic and pipe work applications.
* Meets the +/-4% repeatability requirements of ISO 6789:2003.
The STB 35 has a torque range of 7-35Nm.
The STB 70 will be available later in 2007.
(20-70Nm) * TALS-2 Torque Activated Logging System - TALS-2 gives the user the confidence that a torque wrench operation has been electronically logged to ensure all critical fasteners are tightened to the required torque.
The TALS-2 has the following features.
* All transceiver units are IP64 (ingress protection) rated, giving TALS-2 extra protection, which allows it to be used in a variety of working environments.
* Three LED's display tool operation status, allowing the user an initial diagnostic indication.
* Reduced reaction time between transceiver and user interface box, which in turn minimises delays, ensuring manufacturing goals are achieved.
* Compatible with all Torqueleader torque tools fitted with RF tool tranceivers.
* Communications 'handshake' ensures the signal has been successfully acted upon giving the user peace of mind that the operation is complete.
