Machine construction profiles reduce dirt traps

A Machine Building Systems product story

For the MB Building Kit, Machine Building Systems has introduced reduced crevice- and dirt-free aluminium extrusions with fully enclosed grooves on one or more faces.

For the MB Building Kit system, Machine Building Systems has introduced more aluminium extrusions into its Line-X range.

The extrusions offer a different appearance, when compared with the traditional Item profiles.

The extrusions also feature reduced crevices and dirt-traps.

* 'N' profiles - there are four more variants of 'N' profiles, which feature fully enclosed grooves on one or more faces.

These aesthetically pleasing plain-faced extrusions are particularly useful where ease of cleaning is important.

The reasons are that not only are the T-slots hidden, but like all Line-X profiles, they feature tight corner radii to give a smooth transition between frame members.

It is possible to remove the cover from the groove using either a screwdriver or bespoke Item tools also available from Machine Building Systems.

This leaves access to the T-slot nuts beneath, allowing fitting of additional components or frame fasteners.

IMachine Building systems expected that the new profiles will find use in clean room constructions, laboratory equipment, some food applications, and other applications where either ease of cleaning or appearance are important.
