Connect serial devices to wireless gateway
With MiniStation configured as a remote, you can connect any serial device to the GageWay Wireless System
The GageWay MiniStation is a component of the GageWay Wireless System that can be configured by the user to operate in several different modes.
In addition to the Base Mode released in October 2006, the MiniStation can now be configured to operate in the Remote Mode.
With the MiniStation configured as a Remote, you can connect any serial device to the GageWay Wireless System.
The serial port on the MiniStation Remote looks like a standard PC serial port.
You can also connect an external read switch (hand switch, foot switch, etc) to the MiniStation Remote so that you can send a user-defined command to your RS232 serial device.
Unique features of the MiniStation Remote include a Windows Setup Program for easy configuration, user selectable standard data formats, extensive data parsing for removing unwanted information from your data stream, and the range on the MiniStation Remote is 300 feet.
The GageWay Wireless System is designed for use on the factory floor, in the lab or any location where you need to connect Mitutoyo gages (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, etc), or gages with Mitutoyo compatible output, and RS232 devices to a computer through a wireless connection.
In its simplest form, a wireless data collection system consists of a MiniStation Base unit connected to a PC receiving wireless data from a single Remote unit (MiniStation Remote or Mobile Module), or it can be as complicated as multiple Bases receiving data from dozens of Remote units.
The primary reasons a company would use a wireless system include:.
* Elimination of cumbersome cabling issues.
* Provides the flexibility to conveniently take the gage to what has to be measured.
* Reduce human error by eliminating manual data recording.
The key features of the GageWay Wireless System include the following:.
* Supports digital gages and RS232 devices.
* Highly visible user feedback.
* Easy to use set up and use.
* Economical to purchase and maintain.
* Works with any computer that has a USB or serial port.
Integrates with existing gage interface systems or with any statistical process control (SPC) and data acquisition (DAQ) software.
Uses the latest ZigBee wireless technology.
MicroRidge has been designing and building hardware and software solutions for RS232 and network data acquisition since 1988.
We offer a broad range of gage interface, keyboard wedge, and wireless solutions.
